Immigration Medical Examination

Will my health insurance cover the cost of the USCIS Immigration Medical Examination?

We do not take health insurance at 3D Medical Immigration. All costs will be out-of-pocket. Most health insurances will deem it unnecessary for health purposes as this is for immigration purposes. You are welcome to contact your insurance to see if they can reimburse you for these services. Payment is due on the day of your medical exam. We will provide you with a receipt that day.

What is the cost?

The starting price is $370. It is dependent on the person’s vaccination/immunization record. $200 includes the medical exam and certification of the I-693 form and a copy. $170 includes mandatory labs tests of TB, gonorrhea, and/or syphilis.

In addition, titers for MMR and Varicella (these will test for immunity) may be required depending on the person’s vaccination record.

MMR Titer$60
Varicella Titer$20

Vaccines are also a separate cost from the $370. You are welcome to get vaccines from your PCP or local pharmacy with health insurance. If you would like to pay out-of-pocket for vaccines, we administer Hepatitis B, MMR, TD, and the Flu vaccines.

Hepatitis B$130
MMR$150
TD$100
Flu$40
What vaccines are required?

Vaccines are determined by the person’s age. Tdap/TD, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Covid-19, and Flu vaccine are the most common for adults.

What payment is accepted?

We accept cash, check, card, Apple/Samsung pay.

How long does it take?

The process primarily consists of 2 visits. The first visit is for the medical exam (30 min). The second visit is to pick up the completed I-693 form (10 min). We do offer an option to have your I-693 form mailed to you via USPS (1-3 business days) for a fee of $15. Test results are usually received in 4-5 days. The entire process takes about 1 week. Please keep in mind this is only if test results come back normal and if you are able to get required vaccines before we officially complete the form. See What to bring to the medical exam.

What if I test positive for TB?

Positive TB results are common from countries outside North America. It is usually a non-active tuberculous. Positive results require a chest x-ray. This is to ensure everything is normal in your lungs. Our doctors will send an x-ray order to Rayus Radiology in Dedham, MA. You will be advised if you have positive TB results to follow up with your PCP or be referred to TB Clinic at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital for treatment.
